The Iceland Pavilion is a cooperation project funded by the Icelandic Government and the three biggest energy companies of Iceland. They are:

  • Geysir Green Energy

Geysir Green Energy explores, develops and utilizes geothermal resources, providing benefits to shareholders and society alike. Successful utilization of geothermal resources is capital intensive and requires cross-disciplinary expertise; geothermal know-how and financing. Geysir Green Energy has access to both and is determined to take part in the climate solution.

  • Landsvirkjun (National Power Company)

Landsvirkjun is the largest electricity producer in Iceland and a majority owner in the national grid company and system operator Landsnet. Landsvirkjun's power generation is entirely based on production from hydropower and geothermal energy with small backup systems based on fossil fuel only used in cases of system break-down.

  • Orkuveita Reykjavíkur (Reykjavík Power)

Orkuveita Reykjavíkur (OR) provides electricity, geothermal water for heating, and cold water for consumption and fire fighting.  OR’s service area extends to 20 communities, covering 67% of the Icelandic population.  OR’s harnesses hot water from geothermal fields in Reykjavík and distributes to its customers.  In addition, OR operates geothermal plants at Hellisheiði and Nesjavellir where it heats groundwater and distributes to the district heating. OR produces electricity by using geothermal, high-pressure steam at its plants at Hellisheiði and Nesjavellir. OR distributes cold water from its groundwater reservoir.
